Executed in X-Plane 12, this flight tested our instrument flying skills to the max, featuring heavy atmospheric turbulence during cruise and an intense, low-visibility foggy ILS approach into Douala.

  • Thick Fog & Low Visibility: Descending into the equatorial coastal basin of Cameroon, a dense fog layer blanketed Douala, reducing visibility significantly.

  • Precision ILS Approach into Douala (FKKD): Relying entirely on raw instrument data and the Autoland/ILS system to break through the cloud base at decision height before touching down smoothly on Runway 12/30.

  • FMOD 3D Soundscape & Lighting: Real-time rain effects, dynamic cockpit instrument lighting, and realistic engine audio provided maximum realism during the low-visibility arrival.
